HLS file writing permissions fails.

I've recently been getting persistent file and segment write failed due to permissions error when outputting HLS output.flie.hls( ..... ) to /temp/hls

Is anyone else finding this or is it likely to be some env permissions error on my systems.

I've found this on two machines. One I could fix by upping the output folders permissions to 755, one not.

I remove the /tmp/hls directory , so liq is creating this.

The error I get is

At millicent.liq, line 790, char 27-43:
                persist_at="./state.config",

Error 7: Invalid value:
Error while creating directory "/tmp/hls/." for persisting state: Permission denied in mkdir(/tmp/hls/.)

If i remove the persist_at line or use full path e.g. persist_at = '/tmp/hls/state.config' I get this.

Hi all, this problem is related to perm and perms.

I can't make perms work, but perm is the default mode of the directory.
If I omit perm, then the default permissions for the new dir will be 0644, not 0755.
