I am just starting to get OpenVPN client and server working. I have a home server running Arch Linux and OpenVPN is installed. I generated all of the security files, and the client ovpn file. I installed OpenVPN for Android from F-Droid on my LG G6. It and my server both confirm that the VPN is connected. But, when I navigate in Firefox to whatismyipaddress.com, the phone's IP address is shown, not the IP address given to me by my home ISP. I tried editing this VPN connection and selecting "Use default Route," but then when I refresh whatismyipaddress.com, the connection times out with it unable to resolve. I also tried Chrome, but I get the same, incorrect IP address. I also tried going to ipleak.net, same IP address. Further research claims that webRTC is leaking my real IP address. But with Firefox on Android, I can't even get to about:config to disable it. Further, this web page claims that it is not a problem on Android: How to Disable WebRTC in Firefox and Chrome When I disable the VPN, and connect to my home wi-fi, then I get the IP address that I expect to see when the VPN is enabled (going over 4G). So I'm really at a loss as to why my phone's IP address is still visible after connecting to the VPN. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Never mind. Looks like there is a lot more configuration I need to figure out before OpenVPN will actually work like a VPN. |
