The :subdirs_only option adds --include '*/' --exclude '*' to rsync command. So, when this is true rsync will copy only the files with extensions defined in :include_extensions regardless of where in the directory tree they fall.

:subdirs_only should be named something else, default to true, and documented in README.md.
