Esc not working #23
Comments
Hi, I don't run Windows, so I'm not sure if I can reproduce what you're going through. Are you sure the extension is running? Have you tried Tools -> Add-Ons -> vibreoffice ? |
Same issue here with Libreoffice 4.4.5.2, on Linux 4.1.5-1-ARCH. |
I have the same issue with Libreoffice 4.2.8.2 and ubuntu 14.04 |
Same issue here with Libre Office 4.4.5.2, on Arch. I don't know how to escape Insert mode... and I'm really eager to see this plugin work! |
It appears that esc is not needed. I was just able to do movement commands followed by change commands without switching modes in any way. Cool! |
When I use h/j/k/l, or any other normal mode key, it just prints the letters; so I guess there should be something to go out of insert mode... |
My previous statement was plain wrong. This sequence works for me. ww i "test" bb. So I did use escape to get out of insert mode. I'm now in Windows 10. |
Can't get into normal mode either, Ubuntu 14.04, LibreOffice Version: 4.2.8.2 EDIT: |
I think my problem was that I hadn't closed my spreadsheet. I'm using Windows 10. |
@flyingfisch thanks, didn't know about the "toggle vi mode" button. it works now. (should have read the README... shame on me) |
No problem :)

I downloaded .ext on Windows 8.1. Shows active under Tools. Esc doesn't seem to work. How to get out of input mode and into movement mode?
Thank you. This is a dream come true when I get it working.
