Sounds like a codec or a filter is interfering with playback somewhere. I'm not a expert on this thing but maybe try disabling some autoloading filters in CCCP.

Regarding the white screen, it means you can't play the game right?

The white screen is now just for the opening credits. It seems I can play the game normally after that.

I'm going to restart my computer and try changing other settings if that doesn't work.

Restarted didn't change anything, and switching to Windows Media Player had the same results. Could just be a Windows 7 issue. I'll have to play through and see if the other video files have the same issue. Could be that .mpg will work fine and .wmv won't.

Thank for the help. It might just be my setup and won't be an issue if I upgrade Windows, but it's not game breaking now so I'll live.

Yep. That did the trick. I now remember having to do that for visual novels before, but just completely forgot about it.

Doesn't happen to me, so it's probably due to your save file being older, the save files seem to break every update so i wouldn't be surprised.

Ngl because the translation is so broken i almost ended up in a route i wasn't supposed to have access to (Akane's route) on my first playthrough and i wasn't supposed to from what friends told me, it's really not fun to spoil the fun of people who waited so long for this release and make something worse than fan translations by completely breaking the flow

Akane and Shizuru route are unlocked from the start of the game now, is a Rewrite+ thing. Most people seem to disagree with it, but that's a different thing, not Sekai's fault. Key/VA doesn't really seem to know what to do with Rewrite, so they can only think of ways to make it worse

skip 3 routes + common with all mappie things because they sell a faulty product, of course I know I can skip, but will they corrup the save again? how many times will I have to skip?

i mean it is what it is, outside of leaving a bad review on Steam there's little that ranting helps, especially not here where they'll probably hide/remove the comments
best that can be done is just keep thanklessly doing the QA and triaging for Sekai for free, and hope maybe they'll fix things, it's disappointing though
gotta hope that harvest festa at least doesn't launch like this (buggy and broken, without any path to feasibly fix these issues without causing constant save data loss), and perhaps also fixes some of the consistent translation problems

If we are to fix things and make changes, progress resets and saves compatibility are unavoidable.

The engine sometimes have issues figuring out which lines have been read or not if the script has been changed, even if the line numbers themselves remain intact.

The legacy branch was provided only as a recourse for those who want to continue their existing saves, but we unfortunately cannot make any guarantees as to compatibility with the default branch.

When achievements support are added, achievements will also only be unlockable on the default branch, so it is advised to switch to the default branch and start over.

achievements will require another clean save replay, i presume? unless you maybe scan the save data upon startup for all quests or w/e

The plan is that achievements will be unlocked retroactively upon looking at the Memories menu, this will only apply to the default branch.

The version of the engine used on the legacy branch does not support achievements.

There's another bug btw that seems to more often occur in Lucia's route but still exists in other routes
this bug makes it so if a text is too long it will get cut off and will only be readable in the log

I think the bug comes from the auto skip system that detects the continuation of the message as "already read"

Correct, autoskip breaks here. I talk about bugs with this in #33 a bit. It causes issues everywhere. The engine technically supports overflow, in that the text is readable, but it has so many bugs it shouldn't be used. The engine's debug mode is smart and will warn you about overflow every time it happens, so there's no way SP didn't know (...unless they didn't play the game at all?), so they mustve decided these bugs are acceptable...
