Seems like a good approach for something that could a) use more hands and b) benefit from a wide range of contributions.

Seems like a good approach to me. I avoid master branches anyway, since only gh-pages branches can easily be reflected on the web.

I'd like to see some concrete PRs to signal that this likely to get real uptake and move in a productive direction, but I'm happy to move to a shared governance model. What next steps are you suggesting?
