We would like to bump Tekton release. Some recommendations are:

  • Give some time for the latest release to be live(e.g. bugs detected after shipment, etc)
  • Ensure dependencies are still working, e.g. operator-sdk, k8s version

We discussed #411, @sbose78 shared some insights on the rational behind having spec.dockerfile and not spec.source.dockerfile. Issue will continue open for more discussions.

We discussed #412 and the need to come up with a BETA plan.

We discussed around enhancing testing after building the images. Build v1 does that.

We discussed #405 , ideally we want to enable users to have an easy way to install the operator via helm. Also, we would like to have a one-liner installation similar to how tekton pipelines does, for each new release.

We discussed #403 , we would like to continue improving on this tool before we move it to shipwright. Also, this would give more time for people to provide feedback or requirements.
