Adds more resilient lazy loading of options.

This PR in its current form does have 1 backwards incompatible fix I need to fix.That is, if you change doselect.setAttribute("value")it will only change thedefaultValueand not thevalueproperty. So I still need to fix this. PR is here to double check it meets users needs.Fixed!
