When trying to Upload with windos exe - getting type Error #6

Same error here as well. There does not appear to be any log to reference for more information I tried removing all folders from GameData except for just the ones with the parts I needed and I still got this message, although it took longer for it to pop up |
Hi, I'm sorry you haven't heard from me for such a long time! We love the KSP project, but our work on Animation (http://sketchfab.com/animation) meant we had to put some other activities on hold for a short while. The issue is known and logged in our side, but for now we don't have enough informations about it to provide a quick fix, it will need much more time to try to reproduce. Rest assured that I'll be working on this as soon as I can, and I'll check back here with more information. Thanks again, |
ok this is weird - I reduced my GameData down to just Squad and tried to build a default craft file and got the same error. I keep a clean copy of all KSP versions so I unzipped my 1.0.4 clean copy and ran the exporter on that with the default Kerbal X craft, and it built and went through to the uploading stage no problem. I deleted the Squad folder in the original install and replaced it with the one from the clean copy and tried to build the Kerbal X craft and still got the error. I removed all other craft files but the default ones, and still got the error. So there's something that I've done to the file structure of my install or something that the exporter doesn't like. I do have other folders within the root game directory. But I don't have time to stumble around and find out what the issue is. would it be possible to get a new build that does some basic logging output? Otherwise I'll take another crack at it when I get a chance. Also @vetruven if you're still listening, send me a screenshot of your KSP directory and I'll see if there's anything in common with mine |
Thanks @Gaiiden for all of these tests. I don't think the issue comes from other KSP files, because the exporter doesn't look for any of them, but from the parts files (.cfg, .mu and .dds). A new version with better debug logs will be pushed soon, it will help to identify the issue. Could you send me a .zip containing files of a part (preferably used by one of the craft you tried to upload) from your modded install of KSP so that I can try to reproduce it on my side? I keep you in touch for the new version, thanks again! |
I'm going to hold off until the debug version - like I said I made a successful ship compile with only the stock Squad folder in a fresh install and then when I copied that same folder into my install, the process failed. So it couldn't have been anything in that folder because it was the exact same one I used to compile the same model in the different install directory |
