subtitle color #89
Comments
Hm what I can definitely say is that with the regular streams that won't work as the subs are hardcoded into the stream. But you have the option in the settings to switch to soft subtitles, which will show the video without subs and download the subs separately and let Kodi display them. I can't say if Kodi does color them, never tried that - but it should, as it is completely up to kodi to display them in this mode. |
@smirgol i checked and it seems i already tried that as soft subtitles was active :-/. |
Hm that's odd. For me it works in terms of that it is now using kodi to show the subtitles, but I can't change the color in kodi itself. Not sure if it's a skin issue or if there is no such option or if I'm just blind. :) I can see in the subtitles file that the font and colors are defined there, I don't know if these can be overridden by kodi. One, in theory, could rewrite the subtitle files to change the color, but not sure if that's a good idea to be honest. |
Hi,
is it possible to let the subtitle be colored from the systemsettings for subtitles?
With the netflix-addon it works for me that subtitles are colored yellowish configured in kodi.
~/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml
As the subtitles in crunchyroll are usually plain white with a very tiny black border i often have a hard time reading them when the current scene is very bright.
I even switched to german subtitles because the chosen font is a bit thicker as the english one 🙈
Maybe it's just age or because the tv is far away but i would really like having the option to configure the colour like it's pre-2k and all animes had yellow/orange subtitles :--).
