Icon changes path between some Discord upgrades and that makes (at least on kde) that shortcuts on panels become invisible until deleted and created again.

I've seen this issue in other snap upgrades, mostly on Discord recently, but it's definitely an issue on snaps as a whole.

Hi, thanks for reporting this!

Is this still happening with the latest version? Snaps changed a lot since 2019.

Hi. As of the date of this post, I can say that on Xubuntu I removed another launcher from a panel and the Discord Snap Launcher lost its icon. So to answer your question: Yes it's still happening in 2024 on Xubuntu 24.04 LTS

In the App Center there is no update for Discord so it would appear whoever or whatever group this issue was handed to since 2019 has not done whatever is necessary to assure the icon doesn't just disappear, or in my layman's thinking, "keeps the Discord Snap Launcher icon on path with its launcher".

Understand further that what I mean I may not be saying correctly because I am just a user, not a coder and doing my best. The Discord Snap Launcher is still in the panel as I intended it to be but the icon has disappeared leaving it looking like a transparent box in the panel. When I right click this transparent box and look at properties, the icon isn't there. When I run the App Center and look at Discord, the icon isn't showing there either. So I am not sure in any way where or what the issue is. I can only tell you how it appears on the Desktop in Xubuntu 24.04 LTS on my system and hope after what appears to be 5 years, and with no disregard for the fact it isn't directly supported by Discord nor that anyone who is working on this is a volunteer I submit this affirmation that what appears to be the issue described for this topic appears to still be happening in 2024.

Thank you to all of you who make the Discord Snap possible and please understand as a user with no control over this (I have no idea how to add an icon to a shortcut or the app itself and wish it was just plain easier to add one) I am frustrated by it still happening (as it has been for years) but not frustrated at or with anyone. I just find it surprising the issue hasn't been fixed knowing good people put this snap together and hope it is an issue they can address soon.
