He explained some things he's done to automate things in his daily life... and it was damn cool. I took some notes, which I share here (in a raw and dirty format, feel free to make something better out of it & excuse in advance for the typos/inconsistencies ;))
- Couch potato: share movies with the wife (kind of).
- Docker container used to sync homebridge (domotics) with Apple HomeKit App (so Siri can help).
- Vera controller - Compatible with domotic protocols (USB of domotics).
- He runs the docker containers on his own server at home (picture).
- He says he'd like an operating system scheduler to manage contacts with people.
- I explain what I want to do in that regard (I haven't talked with this guy in 1 month, let's ping him).
- Egga mentions habitica, rpg so if you do the things you set up, you earn points, gain level...
- We quickly played with wheeldecide.com.
- CrashPlan: p2p backups.
- rancher: dashboard enabling to manage different environment/hosts.
- (Idea he has in mind) replay ability in codebases / Git repositories to be able to learn from the process.
- Gource: a software version control visualization tool.
- CodeCity, a similar (to Gource) tool.
- "Your code as a crime scene", talks online, author made some software as well.
- synology + raspberry + intel u6?
- (Idea he has in mind) catalog my pictures.
- Plex has support for pictures too.
