YouTube player does not work #472

Where did you get the app from

Google Play

Android version

14 (Oxygen OS 14)

Device model

OnePlus Nord 3 5G (CPH2493_14.0.0.560)

First occurred

From installation (I am a new user)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add any YouTube RSS Feed like https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UCXuqSBlHAE6Xw-yeJA0Tunw
  2. The feed will be populated. Tap on one of the videos.
  3. The video player is not present and the following error appears:

Expected behaviour

The video player should be present and working.

Current behaviour

An error linking to this site saying that Android 4 or higher is necessary to use YouTube

Feeder does not have a youtube player.

By design it should show a thumbnail image which you can click and it should open your browser / youtube app.

So I'm not sure what problem you are describing

I also have the same issue. It does not show the thumbnail image. When i click the icon to fetch the full article , then the same error message is displayed

Android version: 15
Device: Pixel 6a

That's from the site itself. Loading fulltext for a youtube feed is probably quite pointless.

The issue is it does not show me the youtube thumbnail image by default.
