🙏 Issues converting a layout + data #562

Hi @pgundlach I am not disappeared, although I am in an unpleasant situation, now I am porting my grid layout to a simplified version to use as base (I called it Advanced-Grid-Layout: AGL); but even though it should be a simple task I continue to fail the compilation producing 0 page, luckily the original code still works fine.

I pretty sure the issue is on data.xml and that I am missing something but I can spot this out, perhaps the error code can suggest you something:

Finally solved...

Eventually I put one product for page and I was able to realize that a section had a missing accent attribute even though I checked them several times... 🤦‍♂️

Yes it possible very true, perhaps I didn't update some definition and this still use the wrong name. 🤔

What I don't understand is why the whole process must crash for a missing or bad name color instead. Can it simply go ahead or tell you: a color(or anything else) definition is missing would you like to continue or abort? [option: c, a]

Is it possible? 🤷‍♂️

For instance Publisher cousin ConTeXt has an option that prevents stopping a compilation even though it finds several errors.

My goal is to create a PDF if this is possible, give error messages and never stop the publishing process. I'd like to catch all these errors, but I am notoriously bad at catching these things. (And I admit that sometimes I am a bit lazy)

Lua (the programming language I use) is not good at catching programming mistakes like these, so I rely on user input for these kind of problems.

Have you found out what is/was wrong in your case?

I haven't found what is causing the issue yet, and why at page 45!
I have only 3 colors and few metapost objects so tracking them down should be easy. However... 🤷‍♂️

Finally solved...

Eventually I put one product for page and I was able to realize that a section had a missing accent attribute even though I checked them several times... 🤦‍♂️
