This tool needs to support a lot more languages! Whether it's a programming language, a data language, prose or markup, your help is appreciated! Even if the language is already supported, if you know it you can review and see if we've forgotten any information or if we got anything wrong.

Doesn't the linguist's repository already contain all the necessary information🤔

Can't we "simply" reuse languages.yml and heuristics.yml ?

That's definitely something I considered 🙂

But I was kind of hoping that language support could grow more "organically," and address issues as language support grows. I should probably set up some benchmarks to see how performance changes as the list of languages grows 🤔

Note that I wrote this in a way that you can actually provide your own language definitions. So theoretically onefetch could provide a port of tokei's language definitions for similar support 🤔
