Hi, I'm Marcello, computer scientist from the deep South of Italy.

I work as a senior software engineer and I'm the author of Manning's bestseller "Advanced Algorithms and Data Structures".
I also created the JsGraphs library and the Neatsort adaptive sorting algorithm.
In my career I contributed to large-scale web applications at companies like Twitter, Microsoft and Apple, also working on data infrastructure and applied research in both academia and industry. Now I'm trying to spend increasingly more time working on open source projects.

I like working on (and studying) graphs, optimization algorithms, genetic algorithms, machine learning, and functional programming.

I'm starting to develop a few libraries implementing advaced algorithms, specifically Graphs and Genetic Algorithms; I'm also working on two follow up books, an introduction to basic algorithms, and a more advanced book on genetic algorithms, with plenty of examples about how to use them in the real world, for instance in reinforcement learning, simulations and optimization.

I'd like to keep those libraries open source, and to provide free content from those books (or possibly the whole books as free downloads), like I'm doing on my dev.to blog.
