👋 Hey, greetings fellow developer!
I'm Nicolas, a web developer living in Montréal, Canada 🍁
I created and organize the Software Crafters Montréal meetups there.
I've been dealing with Legacy codebases in different environments—from government agencies to successful start-ups. I define Legacy Code as profitable code you're afraid to change 🤠
Aside from my daily job, I develop tools to help devs (myself included) deal with that! I also talk and teach about it. I believe it's a combination of tools & techniques that will make YOU more efficient and productive.
👨💻 I use VS Code for many things, including presenting talks at conferences. I've coded in different languages, but these past years were mostly JS/TS (usually a mix of those).
🙏 If you use Abracadabra, Slides, or any of my other projects, a monthly contribution would be A HUGE RECOGNITION for me. With your help, I might step out of my daily job and focus on making people more productive with Legacy code.
My main projects are:
- 🔮 Abracadabra, automated JS/TS refactorings for VS Code
- 👨🏫 Slides, to use VS Code as a presentation tool
- ✨ Hocus Pocus that generates useful boilerplate from code in VS Code
- And other utilities like gitgraph.js, sass-graph-viz, or jest-extended-snapshot…
Your sponsoring also helps me sustain other initiatives like:
- My blog understandlegacycode.com
- Its weekly newsletter, where I share tips & tricks on dealing with Legacy systems
- Organize Software Crafters meetups
- Sponsor other maintainers who make MY work easier every day
💖 Thank you, and take care out there!
