Hey @lewisturner729, thanks for reporting. I have a couple of questions for you to better understand your problem:

  1. What's your macOS version?
  2. Do you have an Intel or M1/M2, etc chip?

Ok, thanks for the extra info @lewisturner729!

So, the problem is you downloaded our M1 installer but you're using an Intel chip.

Please go to our Download page:

https://www.spyder-ide.org/download/

and select the Intel installer. That should work as expected.
