Discussions should be used to: get updates from the community, get help and support, ask questions, make suggestions for new features, and share success stories. It is a community-driven forum, and we encourage all users to get involved in some aspect.
Here are some guidelines on how to effectively use the five channels available:
Announcements: This channel is dedicated to important updates and news related to the project. Users are encouraged to read and stay up-to-date on these announcements. If you have any questions related to the announcements, just reply directly.
General Help: This channel is intended for users to ask questions or seek assistance when it comes to using srsRAN Project - it is not a place to open issues relating to the source code. Before posting a question, search the channel to ensure it has not already been answered. If there is no existing solution, create a new thread and provide as much detail as possible, including steps to reproduce the issue, screenshots, and information on the hardware being used. Be respectful and patient while waiting for a response, this is a community-driven forum. Also, if you see someone else's question and know the answer, feel free to help out!
Ideas & Suggestions: This channel is where users can share their ideas for new features or improvements to the project. Before submitting a new idea, search the channel to ensure it has not already been proposed. If it hasn't, explain the idea in detail, including the problem it solves and any ideas on how it could be implemented. Be open to feedback and discussion from other users and the team, as it can help improve the idea.
srsRAN-matlab: This channel is intended to be used for questions and queries related to the srsRAN-matlab code-base. Before asking a new question, or posting a new discussion point, search the channel to ensure it has not yet already been posted. It is best to give as much detail as possible with all queries to make sure you receive the best possible help from the community. Be respectful and patient while waiting for a response, this is a community-driven forum. Also, if you see someone else's question and know the answer, feel free to help out!
User Success Stories: This channel is where users can share their success stories, feedback, or testimonials about the project. Share your experience and what you have achieved using the project. This can be helpful to inspire others to use the project as well.
In general please keep the following in mind when posting to a channel:
Users should also note that the existing mailing list is only to be used in relation to srsRAN 4G, all srsRAN Project related inquiries should be put here. Any srsRAN Project related inquiries to the mailing list will not be published.
