Thinking in percentages is a smart idea! but it does need to add up to 100%. However, there is only a check that the total numbers is not less than 100, what about if it would be more ?
I'd suggest to drop the 100% restrained and make your own relative numbers... then you can skip that test.
Still you can say 50/50 or 20/50/30, but it would make it possible to say: 5/10 or 1/3/2.
