When building yazi on a system with compilers using C23 standard, eg soon-to-be released GCC-15, onig_sys package fails to build:

Looks like onig_sys contains some code that's incompatible with GCC 15.

Unfortunately, onig_sys doesn't seem to be actively maintained, and disabling onig_sys isn't really an option, since it's used by syntect for the code highlighting. syntect does offer an alternative regex engine, fancy-regex, but in practice it causes panics at runtime hence isn't usable.

I'm not sure how to fix it in this case. Is it possible to build Yazi with a version of GCC older than 15 for now?

We are working around it by having system install of oniguruma and passing export RUSTONIG_SYSTEM_LIBONIG=1 to build system.

To elaborate:

1. This is kinda problem with dependency.
2. It hits miniscule number of people who are both using pre-release compiler and yuzi, so basically just me and Gentoo CI boxes.
3. This problem has a solution that I reported upstream, along with problem. Badly, sorry about this.
4. GCC-15 expected to be released in late May this year, with Arch switching to it soon and rebuilding world.
5. While possible correct solution to onig_sys build issues lies in distant future, it would be nice if they get here and see the solution on how to package yazi
6. This solution is to passexport RUSTONIG_SYSTEM_LIBONIG=1 to build system and add dependency on installed oniguruma library.
7. Gentoo implemented this workaround while we wait for possible correct solution, it appears to be working fine.
