Maybe something like: "Use only on Wifi" would be helpful too?

@Newar417 Why? I could think of background index updates and background downloads with the option to only do them on unmetered connections. But why should it be possible to forbid other connections than WiFi?

Yes, I had unwanted cost in mind. Not everybody has an unlimited data plan. I see this option in several apps.

@Newar417 I live myself with a limited data plan. A strict "no mobile connection" is a feature of Android. At Android 8, I can open the app detail screen, select "data usage" and select if WiFi should be used, if mobile data should be used and if background data usage should be allowed.

I could think of warnings at some operations which consume much data, but I think that users expect that downloading a large file takes much data (or are there other operations which take much and which I forgot?).

For people that do not necessarily check which connection their on? Or forget to turn off their mobile data at times? (yes, me some times) ^^

Android has got a connection type filter per App in the system settings. Should I post a screenshot of it (and of the way to open it)?

Another option: custom addresses for devices. My device isn't accessible publically on the internet, so I need to be able to manually specify the local address. This is available in Syncthing under [Remote device] > Edit > Advanced > Addresses
