B&W Styles are completely dark #34
Comments
Researched it a bit further, and it looks like the "Channel Mixer" step is blacking things out. Prior to that, we have Filmic RGB which adds a bit more contrast. |
Hi @beesyrupfactory ! Are you using the official release or the latest from Github? The current dev version no longer uses Channel Mixer, hopefully it will be released in the near future., but you can pull the latest version from here, which should do the trick. |
I'm having exactly the same problem. Color filters work fine but BW are useless. I just downloaded latest official version 4.8.0 from https://www.darktable.org/install/ It looks like Channel Mixer is deprecated, can't be used anymore in new files and will be removed completely within 12 month . It is replaced by Color Calibration Module (https://docs.darktable.org/usermanual/4.0/en/module-reference/processing-modules/color-calibration/). I'm afraid it is necessary to update picture BW styles to use new Color Calibration Module. |
Hello,
I'm using a nightly build of darktable for arm64 macOS v.4.5.0+1289~g7bd67db390-dirty. The reason for running the nightly is due to a problem with gtk 3.24.37 in the latest stable release of darktable v.4.4.2. The nightly includes a newer gtk build that improves compatibility with macos systems.
All of the color styles work fine, but whenever I try to apply a B&W style like Tri-X 400, or any of them for that matter it goes pitch black as seen in the following screenshot:
Is this a compatibility issue with the nightly, or is there anything I need to do to get these working again?
Thanks!
