Higher quality audio from read_audio

Hi,

Is there a way to extract the data and create a better audio quality .wav file from the read_audio function? I am using a transcription module, tried a few of them already, none worked with the output from the read_audio. If i manually increase the volume with ffmpeg, sometimes the transcription modules recognizes one or 2 words, but that's all.
