This lab is a nonsensical metal deathtrap. There are two fire extinguishers out of the required five for a room of this type and size. There is only one fire alarm, and it's at the entrance. There is one wall-mounted intercom, and it's at the entrance. If an employee is in an area that isn't the entrance when a fire starts, and they don't have a crowbar, they aren't going to survive. This is a massive problem that I have informed you about every six months for the past several years, and yet, nothing has been done about it. Continuing on with the notes, which are all repeats: your heating pipes lack proper signage, you have handheld igniters sitting exposed to the air, which would be problematic in the event of a leak, and the launch room lacks any kind of breach shielding. There are no fire or radiation suits available onsite. The on-duty toxins researcher that was here when I arrived, Feeds-The-Flames, did not know how to properly operate a fire extinguisher. He just beat himself over the head repeatedly with it. I would not be surprised if more of your employees lacked extinguisher training as well, based on this.</p><p>Overall, due to several years of violations and sheer disregard for fire safety, the Marshal has ordered this facility to be shut down by the end of the day. Fail to comply, and the Spinward Fire Protection Agency will be taking this to the courts.</p>"

And, I must say, I am impressed by how far it's come. I've studied the nine years of MacCarthy reports, and what I've seen has really given me hope that things will improve. First off, I am very happy with the amount of fire extinguishers. I believe I counted seven in the lab, with two per firelock partition, minus the small one outside the burn chamber. This is very good. I am also pleased with the fire alarm distribution, the intercoms, and the air alarms. Again, these are massive improvements over what was present four years ago. The launch room itself is perfect, passed all the tests. We ran a simulation of a plasma leak in the lab. The firelocks were responsive, and the burn was quickly contained. It took just under two hours to consume all the oxygen in the room and die out. Needless to say, I was impressed. There was a crate of fire and radiation protection equipment present, which is good; it gave people who were unprepared a chance to get out alive. The oxygen storage tank was able to stay intace throughout the whole fire, as were the firelocks and walls and floors. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with this, and I am hopeful that I will remain happy when I return in six months.</p>"
