From 47754764621cb622054c14a2e1fab895d0ae04ba Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Boud Roukema Date: Mon, 6 Nov 2023 19:19:21 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Add link to incoming-call USB disconnections; update UCM2 paths This commit adds a link to the known workarounds for USB disconnections that occur on incoming calls. While these are probably not the fault of the modem fw, a full understanding of why the workarounds work might reveal details of why the non-incoming-calls USB disconnections occur (which would be useful to know, no matter whether this is the fault of the modem fw or not). This commit also updates the UCM2 paths from the PP and the PPP, although the PPP path appears to be missing from upstream alsa-ucm-conf, so this commit lists it as "Mobian/trixie". The old paths retained as "older setups", so that the reader has enough of a clue that these paths might not yet be stable, and s/he may need to search around to check the current path and name of right .conf file to edit. The URLs to the flow diagrams for Alsa UCM and to the current alsa-ucm-conf upstream repository are also linked in this commit, to make it easier for people to find these. --- docs/SETTINGS.md | 6 ++++-- 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/docs/SETTINGS.md b/docs/SETTINGS.md index 2931776..1e52479 100644 --- a/docs/SETTINGS.md +++ b/docs/SETTINGS.md @@ -17,8 +17,10 @@ Sometimes the kernel is too aggressive trying to suspend the USB port when it's - Look at the first line where it says `ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", DRIVERS=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ATTRS{idVendor}=="2c7c", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0125", ATTR{power/control}="auto"` - And change it to ON `ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", DRIVERS=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ATTRS{idVendor}=="2c7c", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0125", ATTR{power/control}="on"` +If the modem USB disconnections occur on incoming calls, then you may try [some known workarounds](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/calls/-/issues/605). + 2.
