Hey Filip10, Could you provide a proper reason to change this functionality, please? (How would this change improve the current situation?) For your info, if you see any inappropriate content or modifications on OSMCal, please leave a link so it can be reverted/hidden. PS: I am not the developer of this application, I only contribute feedback to it. |
As a Mapathon organizer I need participants e-mails to send them meeting invite. Thas can be done also through OSM, I know. So other what is possible to do, is to add button to send everyone message through OSM in few clicks. Paticipants are also choosing groups in which they want to be part of like begginers, advanced ... I created a question for it and I also think, that it is not necesssary, that everyone can see what others have chosen. |
Similar to @Filip10 I requested phone numbers and email addresses in the event form to make organization/followups easier. What I did not realize was that the responses would be shared publicly - I definitely did not want to make each participant's contact information public. I'd suggest doing one of the following -
If neither are implemented, at least inform both the event creator and the participants that the form responses will be publicly visible. |
I agree and support @Filip10 and @contrapunctus-1 suggestions :) |
Thanks for the input, everyone! As for the rationale why the feature works as it does: It's basically an alternative to the wiki table - but without the wiki syntax pain. That's why everything is open and public. Currently, we cannot send emails or OSM messages, since we don't know the user's email address nor is there an API to send OSM messages. In osmcal, there is no "owner" of an event: Everybody can contribute to it, like in OSM itself. If I added the option to make answers only visible to the owner of the event, anybody could just edit the event and disable this, which would make the answers public. We could add something like an extra role of "original event creator" and give the option to not publicly display certain answers. I cannot promise this, since it's a bit of work and I don't have much time. |
Now it's possible, that anyone can see answers of questionaire. Make them visible only for editors. Atendees could just see other atendees nicks, but not answers.
