Improve community information about the project

Looking at the Community status for the project, there seems to be things that we could improve:

It's unfortunate, but understandable, that Github can't detect what's in the LICENSES directory. We need to explore how GH wants several licenses to be added to a project. Code of conduct and templates would all be good. I wonder if there is a possibility to add these to an organization instead of separate Github projects?
