Fails to compile on Debian 12 while trying to compile elks which depends on this library

Same. I also had issues with trying to compile this so I can build the FreeDOS kernel (i think), and it ended on a "no such file or directory" for binutils, which is odd. Not sure about elks but I thought this would be worth mentioning. :^)
