I've tried importing messages using both a Pixel 5 and Pixel 7 running Graphene OS and am getting the same results.

  1. If I wipe all the messages and run the smallest file I have, which is 5.8 MB, it will work but takes a long time to import. If I try to run a larger file from a later date that is 109 KB, the app crashes. If I try to run another smaller file, importing just hangs.

  2. If I wipe all messages and just run the 109 KB file the app crashes. I have the log for this - do you need the entire log or just the beginning of the crash?

  3. When I try to extract the zip file for the new format, I'm unable to open, so I wonder if there may be some file corruption?

Ideally, I'd like to just run the largest file, which should have all the messages, instead of running smaller files and de-duping to try to compile all the messages. Thanks for all your work on this!

How is 109 KB smaller than 5.8 MB?

I have the log for this - do you need the entire log or just the beginning of the crash?

We can start with just the portion of the log describing the crash, but please make sure to include the entire portion describing the crash.

When I try to extract the zip file for the new format, I'm unable to open, so I wonder if there may be some file corruption?

Extract it where and how? What happens when you try to open it? It's a standard ZIP file, and should be able to be opened / examined by standard tools.

Thanks for all your work on this!

You're very welcome! I hope we can untangle this.
