While playing in TDM with about 7 other people, on the map with the waterfall and the two shops at the top, I jumped off the waterfall to the right and kept holding right and shield. Since my knight didn't descend, I kept holding right and shield.
But after about 10 seconds, my knight just vanished and I was basicly rendered dead until the next match.
Did I trigger some kind of "disconnected player removal" system?
Needs testing.

I'm not sure I understand the description of what happened, but from what I'm getting, it is likely just one of the usual client/server desyncs where serverside you're still moving (and falling) but not on your client. You probably hit the void serverside, hence the unexpected death.
I wanted to go to the places to the right of the waterfall, but since I was kept hanging at the location with the red dot and no enemy was near, I decided to stay there and keep holding right and action2 (shield).
According to your description, at some point, my character went the blue path on server while on client I was still in the location with the red dot.
