Per NIST's accouncement and timeline:

the NVD will retire all legacy data feeds and the 1.0 APIs.

September 2023 The NVD plans to retire the remaining legacy data feeds as well as all 1.0 APIs.

Based on the new workflow suggestions. It would probably make sense to have periodically updated seed database that users can fetch on first use if they want a faster initial sync.
