Simple attendance checking system

Welcome to the Simple Attendance Checking System project! This educational endeavor aims to showcase a real-time facial recognition system built with technologies such as including MTCNN (Multi-task Cascaded Convolutional Networks), FaceNet, and Support Vector Classification (SVC).

Introduction

Project Goal

Our primary goal is to create a robust and practical solution for tracking attendance in various educational and institutional settings. By harnessing the power of facial recognition technology, we offer a convenient and automated method to monitor and record attendance, simplifying the administrative process.

Key Technologies Utilized

  • MTCNN (Multi-task Cascaded Convolutional Networks): This deep learning model plays a crucial role in accurately detecting and localizing faces within images and video frames.

  • FaceNet: We leverage FaceNet, a state-of-the-art deep neural network, for precise face recognition and feature extraction, ensuring high-quality facial recognition results.

  • Support Vector Classification (SVC): SVC serves as our classifier, enabling the system to identify individuals based on their facial characteristics, leading to precise attendance tracking.

Educational Purpose

It's important to note that this project is intended primarily for educational purposes. While it demonstrates the potential of facial recognition systems for attendance tracking, it is a work in progress and has not undergone extensive testing. Installation

Clone repoitory

git clone https://github.com/tuan124816/Simple-attendance-checking-system.git

Intall necessary libraries

pip install -r requirements.txt
Usage

To use this project, follow these steps:

  1. Run the application:
python main.py
  1. Add a new face, enter the person's name/ID into 'Register Student ID' and press 'Submit' The program will take a few seconds to take the person's picture and train image

  2. To start tracking, press 'Track Face', when you're done, press Q button to escape the tracking screen image

  3. When you have finished your tracking task, press 'Quit' to close the program, the attendance list will be save in the attend list.xlsx file
