Why still in alpha?

Hi there! I'm the author of Piranha CMS and we're looking into adding a module for AkisMet verification of comments. I'd rather use an external component than adding the code, but I'm just wondering why the package is still in Alpha since you haven't updated it for two years 😀

I'm fully aware that the AkisMet specs doesn't update that often, but are you planning on ever going out of pre-release or should we look for another library or just add the source code to our project?

Hi hakan, I don’t really use the package anymore ... I used it for a while and it worked fine. It’s not really “alpha” I guess. The akiamst stuff was pretty straight forward to do. However I probably won’t be updating this package, but feel free to fork/modify and do whatever with it if you like. I think there are a few other .NET akismet packages out there as well. I hadn't been able to find any that actually had full support for all of the API options (this one included) so I ended up writing my own that I could use for adding to Umbraco - it has is_test and honeypot support, for example.
