I'd like to use this issue as an opportunity to also discuss how best we could make this contact channel more visible to our users.
I thought of a couple ways we could do that :

  • Add a menu item to the nav-list "Support" with mailto:[email protected]
    Capture d’écran du 2024-05-20 16-23-41
  • Make this section part of the footer that it displays on the rest of the pages
  • In the map editor add 2 buttons on the help pop-up for the user to find the user doc and the support email easily

With my technical hat 🧢:

  1. easy and pertinent
  2. I'm not sure I understand, is that for map pages? We already have tons of information on these pages :/
  3. That's a good idea that can be useful to other instances I guess if a UMAP_CONTACT setting is define, we can add that extra item 👍
  4. (3bis) Interesting to put a link to discover.umap-project.org from that menu too!

Hey thanks David for your reply !
2. It's for the pages that are not the map viewer and editor.
3. a UMAP_CONTACT settings is great !
4. That would be a default for sure !

Hello @davidbgk
I noticed you've closed this one.
Are 2, 3, 4 discarded in the end ?
