I haven't actually bought one of these devices yet. I saw Snazzy Labs' review and it got me very interested - enough to start digging through the code and trying to get a feel for whether TRMNL is "for real".
So far, well, I'm confident that, unlike many other DIY-able-ish IoT projects on the market, I can actually maintain and make use of this, even if the SaaS one day starts going in a direction that I don't like - it won't become a tech junk brick - so I'm going to order one. 🙂
Where is this headed?
I'd like to contribute more to this demo BYOS, however, I'd like to understand what the goals are.
Is this primarily intended for hobbyists like Snazzy and myself, or for enterprise?
What features are planned for the BYOS?
What's the expertise of the team working on this?
(for example: are y'all really into Ruby, or is it just something you found a quick and easy template for that you thought would be good enough for hobbyists?)
In what areas would you like community help, if any?
