why does this code not disable these rules?

Context: I am using ltex from emacs with the eglot-ltex package. I think I figured out how to configure eglot, alas, I am unable ti disable spell checking. The json stream send to ltex has the following:

[jsonrpc] e[14:04:14.054] --> workspace/didChangeConfiguration {"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"workspace/didChangeConfiguration","params":
{"settings":{"ltex-ls":{"ltex.language":"en-US","ltex.disabledRules":{"en-US":["MORFOLOGIK_RULE","CONSECUTIVE_SPACES"]}}}}}

yet the above rules are still in effect. This could very well be an issue of eglot-ltex, but thanks for confirming if the above should work.
