Mizu P25 Connectors
We use the Molex Mizu-P25 Mini connectors for signal level wires, such as CAN Bus. These connectors very small size makes them ideal for minimizing space requirements. The connectors are also fully sealed against water and dust. An integrated retention mechanism ensures a good connection and prevents accidental disconnection. Unlike the Weather Pack Connectors, no seal is attached to each wire because the seal is integrated in the back of the connector. The series consists of three components: connectors, terminals, and tools.
The connectors come in male and female variants called plugs and receptacles.
The terminals come in male and female variants. Unlike other connectors, the Mizu-P25 terminals only come in one size which supports either 22 or 20 AWG wire. The male terminals fit in the plug housing, and the female terminals fit in the receptacle housing.
See this specification for proper crimp images. See this guide for complete assembly instructions, including diagrams of the correct orientation of crimps in the housings.
- Crimp terminals onto wires and verify good crimp (See crimp specification)
- Insert terminals into housing in the correct orientation (See assembly guide)
- Push in the end cap of the housing (See assembly guide)
This crimper is stupidly expensive. Please treat it well and don't lose it. It makes crimping the tiny connection relatively easy, and it's virtually impossible to crimp without this specialized tool.
See page 6 of this guide on how to use this tool. We don't currently own this tool, but you could probably replicate it.
