Сan I filter data using getSubLayerRow?

I have a composite layer as an adapter. For one of the sublayer I need to output filtered data by flag. But I still need access to the origin data for the getPosition function. I think my current solution is not entirely correct and I can use setState and getSubLayerRow? But I'm not sure if getSubLayerRow is suitable for filtering data?
