Before you can view someone's wishlist, you must be added to the
collection of people who can view that person's wishlist. There are
two methods you can use to do this
<ol>
<li>You can have the person who's wishlist you would like to view add you to the list of people who can view his/her list. Click <a href="#listAccess">here</a> for more information
<li>Goto <font color=navy>Update Your Account >> Manage List
Access</font>. In the section titled <font color=navy>Find someone
elses list to view</font>, enter that person's WishList userid or
their email. If the userid or email is found, then you can choose to
add them to the collection of wishlist you can view.
<p>
<b>Note:</b> you
will be given read only access to the person's wishlist using this
method. You will need to contact that person and ask them to remove
your read only status before you can check items off their list.

Once you have been granted access to someones wishlist, their
name will show up on the WishList homepage. To view their list,
simply click on their name.

If the item can be checked off then there will either be a checkbox <input type=checkbox> if the person only wants one of that item, or a drop downlist <select></select> if the person wants more than one of that item. If it's a checkbox then simply click on the checkbox to mark it. If it's a drop down then select the quantity of that item you have purchased. Do this for every item which you have bought.
<p>
Once you are done checking things off, click the <input type=button value=Submit> button and that person's wishlist will be updated. An email will be sent out to everyone who can view that wishlist indicating that a change has been made.

Follow the navigation link. For each item that you have bought, there will be an entry in the purhcase log and next to it you will see <font color=red>[Remove Purchase]</font>. Click that link to remove your purchase.

Comments section. The person who owns the wishlist will not be able
to see the comments so this section can be used to communicate with
the other people who can view the list without revealing anything to
the owner.
To add a comment click the <input type=button value="Add New Comment"> button.
In the page that opens, type the comment you want to add and click the
Add Comment button and the comment will be added to the wishlist.

You can also send the comment as an email by marking the checkboxes next to the names of the people who can view that wishlist. If nothing is checked then no emails will be sent.

You can use Categories to group similar items together. For instance,
you could have a Book category and a DVD category. In order to add a
new category, goto <font color=navy>Modify Your List</font> and click
on <input type=button value="Add New Category">. In the page that
opens you will have the following options
<ul>
<li><b>Category Name:</b> enter a name for the category (e.g. Books)
<li><b>Category Description:</b> enter a description for the category
(e.g. I prefer hard cover books)
<li><b>Link Name & URL:</b> use these fields if you want to associate
a url for this category. For example, if all the items in the
category will come from one store such as L.L. Bean, then you could
provide a link to the L.L. Bean website.
<p>In <b>Link Name</b> supply a name for the link (e.g. L.L. Bean)
<br>In <b>URL</b>, supply the url for the link
(e.g. http://www.llbean.com)
<li><b>Additional Information:</b> use this field to add more
information about the category. For example, if the category was
Books then you could use this field to indicate that you don't mind
receiving used books as long as they are in good condition. This
field will show up on a seprate line.

<p>When you are finished editing the fields, click the <input type=button value="Add Category"> button
<p>
<b>Note</b>: There is a special category call <font color=navy>"Items Under Consideration"</font>. Items you place in this category will not be visible to the people who can view your list so you can use it to store items you are considering for inclusion. If you decide you do want an item in this category to be visible to everyone else, simply move it to another category (i.e. click <font color=navy>[edit]</font> for the item you want to move and then select the desired category in the drop down box)

List</font>. First determine which category in which to place the
item (e.g. Books, DVD's, etc). If the category does not exist yet,
you will need to add it. Click <a href="">here</a> for information on
how to do this.

At the bottom of each category there is a link called <b><font color=navy>Add New Item to <i>Category Name</i></font></b>. Click on that link. In the page that opens you have the following fields
<ul>
<li><b>Title</b>: Enter the name of the item (e.g Gone With the Wind).
<li><b>Description</b>: Enter a brief description of the item (e.g. a novel by Margret Mitchell)
<li><b>Price</b>: a representative price for the item
<li><b>Quantity</b>: the amount of this item that you want
<li><b>Link 1 Name & URL</b>: here you can provide a link to a website
which is selling the item you are adding.
<p>
If the item is availabe from Amazon, then you can simply cut and paste
the Amazon url into the URL textbox and click <b><font
color=navy>Perform Amazon Lookup</font></b>. The WishList Site will
then fetch all the information about that item from Amazon and
auto-populate the <b>Title</b>, <b>Price</b>, <b>Quantity</b>, and
<b>Link 1 Name</b> for you.
<p>
If the site is not Amazon, the provide a name for the link (e.g. Best Buy) and copy and paste the url into the URL textbox
<li><b>Additional Information:</b> here you can add more information
about the item. This field will appear on a seperate line.
<li><b>Link 2 Name & URL:</b> here you can provide an alternate web site where the item can be bought
<li><b>Link 3 Name & URL:</b> same idea as Link 2
<li><b>Allow people to check this item off:</b> If this box is checked then people can indicate they have bought it (i.e. a checkbox or drop down list will appear next to that item). If you have items that you don't want people to check off (e.g. Gift Certificates) then uncheck this box
<li><b>Add a star next to this item:</b> if this box is checked then a <img src="images/star.gif"> will appear next to it. The star indicates that you really want the item.

After you are done filling in the fields, click the <b><font color=navy>Add</font></b> button

These arrows allow you to change the order in which categories and items are displayed. For example, suppose you had two categories, Books and DVDs, and Books appears before DVD's. so I realy don't want to describe the process as it now stands. You
might be able to figure out how to do it by yourself. In order to

will explain it for you.
