TouchBar: Catalina Problems

Nothing seems to happen when trying to add to the Touch Bar, and this shows up in the system logs:

Note though that adjusting the screen brightness doesn't work from my Touch Bar, so it could technically be my machine having general Touch Bar problems, and this is just another symptom.

The same exact bundle used to work for a real long time, so this is more about the OS expectations having changed somehow, and less about me breaking something.
