adding a button per pathway page with a "Cite pathway" providing people with the correct URL, or a bibtex format, could really help people

  • could offer permalink, full citation, and bibtex options

(It's not necessary for providing the functionality on the site but it would allow me to make a Citation.js plugin for Wikipathways pathways without having to scrape the HTML.)

Feedback from Curator's meeting:

  • On the topic of having features available in a drop-down vs in buttons, it was mentioned (Freddie) that while less buttons is the norm for many non-technical modern websites, what's expected for a technical database website is different, and that its ok (or even expected) to have more buttons exposing specific features (for ease of use etc).
  • Related: Increased font size and size of buttons would be good.
  • Separately, it was discussed to have direct access (as drop-down) to a text "snippet" for citation, meaning not just the permalink but something like what we used to recommend: "Salomonis N, Pico A, Hanspers K: SIDS Susceptibility Pathways (Homo sapiens). https://www.wikipathways.org/instance/WP706."
