Hello, sorry if on the wrong repo, but I think it more a desktop request feature than a general one.
I have been a couple of harsh weeks through the issue reported here (How to show main menu after hiding it?#901) where I unchecked "show menu" on the top bar menu->Window.
I only solved my problem by scanning the github issues page, learnig that Alt+multiple clics trick to show back the menu.
I was pretty surprised that the #901 issue was closed without any more debate : this keyboard trick might be a standard knowledge for some experienced dev users, but for normal people it isn't at all.
We should have a way to show the main menu back by a single click on the settings tab, without having to learn keyboard shortcuts BEFORE that.
A standard checkbox in the Preferences->Options tab "show/hide top bar menu" would be perfect solution.

Operating system: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS 64 bits
Which antivirus software do you have installed: non applicable
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Main menu −> Window -> show menu
no main menu, no checkbox on settings tab to show back the top bar menu
