Merge with wiredtiger/leveldb, clean up

Please merge with the wiredtiger/leveldb repository to make sure we end up with a single version of the LevelDB benchmark that we can maintain. If any cleanup is possible, or there are obvious performance issues (such as opening and closing cursors inside a loop), please sort them out.
