Labels Not showing on configurable products.

For the Simple products is working just fine but for the configurable only $product->isAvailable() is working.
I try:
/sale/
print_r($labels->isProductOnSale($product));
/new/
print_r($labels->isProductNew($product));
Doesn't show nothing for configurable.
