I decoded the sample and noticed that it was coded as category BUFR = 5 (Single level upper-air data (satellite). In my understanding "Sea Surface Height Anomaly Measurement" would be more appropriately coded in another category. Perhaps 12 "Surface Data (Satellite)" |
Initial request
In support to assimilation of sea surface height anomalies in ocean models, there is a need to represent available measurements in BUFR. Raw observations are in netCDF format.

Amendment details
1. Add a new table B descriptor 0-08-xxx for Type of sea surface height anomaly measurement
2. Add a new CODE/FLAG TABLE 0-08-027 for Type of sea surface height anomaly measurement
3. Add a new table B descriptor 0-21-xxx for Dynamic atmospheric correction
