Communication plan of proposals for amendments using the fast track procedure

DRAFT

  1. Requests for amendments may come from team members representing a community, other WMO teams, other WMO experts, stakeholders, users, and or requirement documents.
  2. Key experts (collaborators) and publications will be consulted during the development and validation of the proposal.
  3. All amendments are compiled into a proposal for amendments document, marked as 'Draft' and:
    1. sent to target National Focal Points for review and to provide comments within two months
    2. circulated to others for informational purposes, such as the WMO Secretariat, known stakeholders, and collaborators
    3. posted at https://community.wmo.int/activity-areas/wis/wis-manuals
  4. Comments requesting significant changes to the amendments may result in withdrawal of the proposal. Comments with minor changes to the amendments will be included in the final release. All details of any changes will be added to the document.
  5. The document is marked as 'Final draft' and sent to the President of the INFCOM for approval.
  6. The document is marked as "INFCOM approval' sent to the President of WMO for approval on behalf of EC.
  7. The document is marked 'WMO approval'
  8. A brief announcement is published to the Operational Newsletter
  9. The document will remain on https://community.wmo.int/activity-areas/wis/wis-manuals until the official WMO publication includes the amendments.
