Configuring pie menus
Pie menus give many personalization possibilities directly from krita.
Clicking the settings button in the bottom-right corner switches into Edit mode
, which allows to configure the pie. When clicked, the keyboard button no longer needs to be pressed to keep the pie visible. In this mode one can:
- drag icons to change their order
- drag icons out of the pie to remove them
- drag icons into the pie to add them
To apply the changes, press the tick button in the middle of the pie.
When in edit mode, additional widget with configuration options appears next to the pie. It is divided into following tabs:

Some pies can have additional features specific the their property.
Allows to control misc parameters common to every type of pie. Currently available properties are:

Each pie can operate in two Location
modes:
-
Global
- Pie values are saved in krita settings. Values remain the same until modified by the user. Selected values and their order is saved between sessions. This mode is meant to be used for values that remain useful regardless of which document is edited. -
Local
- Pie values are saved in the .kra document. Each new document starts with the default set of values which are can to be modified to those used in given file the most. Saved values are not lost between sessions. Switching between documents, results in pie switching the values to those saved in the active document. For resources, only resource names are stored. Saved value will be lost, when the resource is missing.
It also contains two action buttons for high level control regarding default values.
-
Set pie values as a new default
- current pie icons become the new default.- For local mode, this is the set with which pie starts when new document is opened.
- For global mode, this is the set to which one can go back with the "Reset pie values to default" button
-
Reset pie values to default
- resets pie icons to the default ones, which were set with the "Set pie values as a new default" button.
