Auto Generate Display Elements List - vendor based #5044
Comments
You can tag previews now for each group/prop. Some folks are doing that .. so "normally" you have it set to Default. You can using the upper right view box, create a Vendor view then tag each group/prop accordingly. There is nothing we could do that could auto -do that for you. |
@derwin12 I am sorry, after I posted this, I thought I got the verbiage wrong. I am talking about Display Elements. Here is the ask again with more clarity: Now that we have aliases for our props/groups/submodels so that mapping sequences is a little easier going forward - can we turn that data into helping us "auto generate" a specific vendor's display elements list? For example, I call my All Pixel group "All Pixels" whereas another vendor may have "All Pixels GRP" in their view. It would be nice to generate a display elements list with all of my props (while looking at aliases) that would match the same list as the vendors, or close to it. |
I don't think there's a need for that since Auto Map will use the Alias to map and not have to create new groups. These are groups, they have to exist so can't have them without actually creating another group with the Alias name. |
@cybercop23 I might be not explaining this clearly. I am thinking that there should be a way to have xLights build a view based on a Sequence Vendor's Display Elements order. For example, I use xTreme sequences and BF Light Shows. I would think there would be a way for xLights to build a Display Elements list that follows the order for the props/groups in the Vendor's show but build the list with my props/group names (that are already set as aliases). The goal would be to save time setting up views for each vendor so that the sequences render properly. |
