Describe the bug
Everytime I close and reopen Xlights, I get the unable to load RGB Effects file and a new one is created. I lose all of the models and sometimes I lose the controllers as well. When going to restore backups inside Xlights, most of the backups show 0 models available, and sometimes the Controllers show the wrong number as well.
If I overwrite the existing RGBEffects.xml file inside the show folder with one of the backup's rgbeffects files that shows the correct number of models, then I can launch Xlights. If I overwrite using a backup rgbeffect file that shows 0 models, then I get the same unable to load RGB Effects error. As of today, I can no longer get a functioning backup file with a newly created model to be contained.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
(and/or link to a short video showing the problem with audio track describing what you are doing)
Save Xlights layout and network
Backup prior to closing
Close Xlights
Open Xlights
See Unable to load RGB effects error
Close out of xlights
Overwrite show folder's xlights_rgbeffects.xml file with most recent backup xlights_rgbeffects.xml file
Get same unable to load RGB effects error
Expected behavior
Should be able to close and reopen without losing models. Also should be able to use any of the backups
Screenshots
Versions (please complete the following information):
OS: [MAC 15.1.1]
xLights version [2024.19]
Additional context
Xlights already has Full Disk Access as well as Local Network access. Zoom room recommended closing Xlights, toggling these both off and back on, restarting the Mac, and try opening xlights again. I did this 2-3 times (once not overwriting the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file, another time overwriting the xlights_rgbeffects.xml with the most recent known working one). Any way I do it, when I backup in Xlights, I only get a backup that does not have a functioning xlights_rgbeffects.xml and 0 models are showing in the Xlights restore backup.
